Cardwell Keeps Chambliss Below 50 in Rasmussen Poll
Cardwell the Strongest Democrat in the Race
( Atlanta ) Dale Cardwell, Democratic candidate for the United States Senate, keeps U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss (R-GA) under 50% in a Rasmussen Poll released last night. In a head to head match up, Chambliss only leads Cardwell 49-33. Chambliss's inability to break 50% foretells of a major vulnerability for his campaign in next year's election.
Chambliss was ahead of the other Democratic candidate polled, Vernon Jones, by 53-28, which shows Dale is the top Democratic candidate to face Chambliss in next year's election.
“It's clear that the voters are looking for a change in 2008,” said Emil Runge, spokesman for Cardwell. “Dale Cardwell is an independent voice who will serve the people of Georgia , while Chambliss is the ultimate status quo candidate who is beholden to the special interests in Washington .”
